Singing the Blues

I am listening to the melodious voice of Ella Fitzgerald singing “I am just a lucky so and so”. They lyrics declare:

If you should ask me the amount
In my bank account
I’d have to confess that I’m slippin’
But that don’t worry me, confidentially

I’ve got a dream that’s a pippin’
And when the day is through
Each night I hurry to
A home where love waits,…

Love has many forms, not the least of which is love of one’s work process, whatever process it be. Work brings meaning to life which is significant to human health and well being and which money can’t buy.

I grew up in a home where the work process was loved first and eventually it paid off financially. My Dad listened to the jazz greats of the fifties, artists like Ella Fitzgerald who effortlessly transmutes a joyous rhythmic spirit through the sheer beingness of her vocal talent, the essence of “singing the blues” forever a timeless inspiration for those living on the edge, as we did.
