How about you apply the Rule of Law of this country to Musk first?

We are now being told that DOGE was created by Congress because Trump simply renamed the United States Digital Service, created during the Obama administration and gave it a new mission. (see previous post)

18 U.S. Code § 208 — Acts affecting a personal financial interest requires that Musk identify his financial interests (now to be revealed in the congressional investigation as 8 million dollars a day paid by taxpayers to Musk interests) in writing and that the Office of Government Ethics certifying that Musk’s interests are not significant enough to affect his duties. If 8 million dollars a day isn’t significant then why are the much lesser sums that Musk is targeting significant?

This signed testimony is supposed to be publicly available on request so we can all send an FOIA request to the Office of Government Ethics and request it.

But of course, Musk fired the Directors of Government Ethics who will be replaced with presidential loyalists.

The penalty for not complying with this rule is stated as so:

“such person shall be subject to a civil penalty of not more than $50,000 for each violation or the amount of compensation which the person received or offered for the prohibited conduct…
